Wednesday, January 27, 2010 Yes, it's official. On 22 January, JYP Entertainment has announced that Mimi (Sunmi) from the Wonder Girls has decided to postpone her musical career to pursue an academic career. Which means that once again (Hyuna was replaced by Yubin due to health problems back in September 2007), another member of the original WGs will be leaving. My whole world came crashing down (okay, maybe not that jialat) when I heard the news through random surfing. I started to know and like the WGs (and especially yubin) from around May 2009. My feel is that the 2nd generation group had the right mix of talents, each demostrating their own strengths. I thought the group was rather steady as they were so popular together for about 2 years plus, so much so that I saw this Hyuna exit as a fortunate thing. So somehow I don't think that this Hae Lim character (Mimi's replacement) will ever win the fans' hearts as the former does. You see, in terms of looks, lose; in terms of experience and team dynamics, lose. I think the only things Lim does better are in dancing and language command (said to speak 4 different languages). But that's just my opinion, the future awaits. What have we all learn from this phenomenon? If you are on your way to international stardom, take good care of your health and finish your studies first. Haiz, I hope SoHee doesn't do a Mimi as well or my favourite WGs will really fall apart. Once again, I would like to express my disappointment of Mimi's exit. ever wondered why?
